Middle age can do strange things to the mind and body. Some people will buy an expensive new sports car, some get that tattoo they have always had a craving for and older men seek out a new life with a girl half their age…..I have opted to pack as little as possible into a 40 litre rucksack to travel and explore. (Well, if I am going through a mid life crisis I think it should involve a little adventure).
Some people may think me a little bonkers, especially as I have passed the age of 50 but I think it is good to take on challenges in life now and again.
I spend a fair bit of time birdwatching and observing the natural world during my travels and there are several posts that follow my exploits on this subject, bird lists may be of interest to anyone who is planning on visiting certain countries. Other posts give an insight to some of the joys, friendship, trials and tribulations that one experiences as they are ‘plodding’ around in a strange country.
