Cozy Nook Hostel
3/1 Tran Phu Street, Ward 4, Da Lat, Vietnam

The reviews for this excellent Hostel speak for themselves. Situated in the beautiful city of Da Lat, this family business was opened in 2015 and has constantly provided excellent hospitality to travellers.
A highlight for many visitors are the communal dinners that the owners host regularly during the week bringing everyone together for a social gathering and a feast of Vietnamese cuisine.
The location and friendliness of the owners make this a milestone among Hostels, if they have a bed free…book it!
Green Bamboo Lodge
Hamlet 4, Nam Cat Tien, Dong Nai 710000, Vietnam

My room at Cat Tien
A lovely Hostel situated on the bank of The Dong Nai River, next to the ferry crossing into Cat Tien National Park.
This is in a remote location with very few other facilities but the hostel has all you need for a short stay. The rooms are bamboo shacks with a luxury bed and mosquito net provided. The restaurant provides good Vietnamese food at a reasonable price and the large dining area is ideal for meeting fellow travellers.
An excellent place from which to explore Cat Tien National Park.
Thao Hieu Homestay
93/3 Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Son Phong Award, Hoi An, Vietnam
Just outside the city centre. A very hospitable family and excellent rooms.
After enjoying the lovely surroundings of Hoi An City try….
Under The Coconut Tree
7 Hamlet An Bang Village, Hoi An Old Town, Hoi An, Vietnam
A quaint Hostel only a couple of minutes walk away from An Bang beach.
Tam Coc Valley Bungalow
Nihn Hai, Hoa Lu District, Ninh Binh Province, Vietnam
Not strictly a Hostel but this little gem is worth a mention. If you are looking for a secluded, romantic location then this Homestay is a fine choice.
Situated away from the centre of Tam Coc, circled by lush mountains and offering comfortable rooms by a large swimming pool this is a wonderful place to spend a couple of days. The host family are very hospitable and friendly and only too pleased to play pool and have a drink with you.
Go on, spoil yourself.
Thailand
Diff Hostel
236/41 Phayathai Road, Thung Phayathai, Ratchathewi, Bangkok, Thailand
A great little Hostel, ideally situated in a quiet backstreet just a couple of minutes walk from the Phaya Thai BTS Station, ideal for the rail link to the airport and for quick trains into the centre of Bangkok. The facilities are in good order, the beds are very comfortable and the Hostel staff provide a good breakfast.
An ideal location for anyone passing through Bangkok or on a short visit to the city.
Cambodia
Here Be Dragons Hostel
East Bank, Sangker River, Near Wat Sangker, Battambang, Cambodia
A slightly quirky Hostel run by an English couple, located just outside the centre of the city.
The Hostel has a licensed bar where it is easy to meet and socialise with your fellow travellers, the owners also provide unusual bar snacks (such as Frog legs) and a selection of unusual spirits which are definitely not for the squeamish.
Samon’s Village
Tuek Chhu Road, Krong Kampot, Cambodia

This wonderful Hostel is set on the banks of the River Preaek Teul Chhu. The rooms are traditional Cambodian style lodges built on stilts among the trees and the washing facilities are fabricated from bamboo (the shower heads have been fabricated from coconut shells). There is a fully licenced bar on the riverside terrace where you can relax with a beer and watch fishing boats chug by as the sun sets and distant thunderstorms light up the evening sky.
The Hostel is not within easy walking distance of the city centre but they do rent out mopeds allowing you to experience the thrill of travelling the lawless roads of Cambodia and to explore the local area.
A beautiful location, situated on the outskirts of Kampot.
Australia
Jackaroo Tree House
13 Frizelle Road (Off Bingil Bay), Mission Beach, North Queensland, Australia

A Hostel that just about has it all, located in a valley surrounded by rainforest, 4 Ft Cassowary and Wallabies roam the grounds and Kingfishers hunt among the trees. There is a decent sized swimming pool, a large, licenced bar where you can socialise, take part in the weekly quiz, play Pool, Beer Pong or Exploding Kittens. The kitchen is large and fully equipped and the staff provide a regular shuttle bus into Mission Beach where you can do your food shop or watch turtles off the town jetty.
I will always hold fond memories of my stay at Jackeroos
On The Wallaby
34 Eacham Road, Yungaburra, Atherton, Tablelands, Australia
With 10 out of 10 ratings this Hostel is rightly regarded as Superb.
The staff and owners are extremely helpful and accommodating and the facilities are excellent. The Hostel provides occasional buffet meals, at a small price and organises regular excursions around the surrounding area, including a night time Canoe safari around Lake Tinaroo.
Yungaburra is a quiet town with some very scenic destinations nearby so you will need a car to go exploring, the Platypus viewing area is a reliable place to find this elusive little creature.
Be aware that the Hostel provides facilities and itineraries for schools to stay so you may want to enquire if there are school activities taking place before booking a room.
